Blaine County Ag Tour
Every year, the USDA Farm Service Agency in Chinook hosts an Ag Tour - featuring valuable and informative speeches given to farmers
and ranchers of the area.  Anyone is welcome to attend and learn about the Agricultural industry.  This year the tour ventured south to
the Bear Paws and covered noxious weeds, covered ditch, alfalfa weevils, variable rate fertilizer, and a couple of surprises too.
Detection of alfalfa weevils by sweeping was demonstrated.  Information on the covered ditch on the north side of Chinook was also
presented.  Noxious weed topics discussed included weed sniffing dogs, chemical control and target grazing with sheep or goats.
Precision Ag, also known as variable rate fertilizer, was discussed.
