WELCOME to the GOOGLE “Chinook Montana Connection.” This site is designed for use by all who now reside or have previously resided in the Chinook, MT area and their spouses. It is free and not to be used for commercial purposes. It's primary purpose is to invite qualifying new members to join the "group" to locate a long lost class mate, friend or relative, renew an acquaintanceship, post a message, check the calendar for events, post a picture, assist arranging and reporting on a class reunion or any other worthwhile purpose. No jokes. No Spam. No Politics. No smut or profanity. BE CONSIDERATE!

Chinook Montana Connection Google joining Process
1. Go to: http://groups.google.com/group/chinook-montana-connection
The next screen you see will give you an option of either "Sign in to Google Groups" or "Sign in and apply for membership".
Click on "Sign in and apply for membership"

2. The next screen allows you to sign in if you have a Google account.
At this time you don't have an account so
Click on "Create an account now"

3. Create your account.
Be sure to write down and remember your password. It doesn't have to be the same as any other password you have.
The nickname must adhere to the following format … Example: 1965 Smith Sharon or 1965 Smith-Jones Sharon or 1965 Smith Jack . The number is the year you graduated from CHS. If you didn't graduate from CHS put the date range you lived there:
Example: 1968-1980 Smith Jack

4. After you complete the application you will get a screen that says an email note has been sent to your address to verify the email address.
Bring up your email and look for a note from Google.

5.. The note will be titled "Google Email Verification"
Click on the link (URL) in the note

6. After you click on the link in the note you will get a screen that says "Email Address Verified". There will be a hyperlink that says "Click here to continue" We suggest that instead of clicking on the "Click here to continue" you:

7. You will get a screen that allows you to apply for membership to Chinook Montana Connection.
Click on: "Apply for membership"

8. The next screen requires some information from you Check the options and fill out the form.
We suggest that you check the "Email … Send each message to me as it arrives" OR “Digest Email”.
Also, please change your nickname if it doesn't conform to the correct format. It is very important to use the correct format (see examples) as this facilitates sorting the membership by graduating class. If you don't use the correct format, we will hound you to change it until you do.
The nickname must adhere to the following format … Example: 1965 Smith Sharon or 1965 Smith-Jones Sharon or 1965 Smith Jack . The number is the year you graduated from CHS. If you didn't graduate from CHS put the date range you lived there:
Example: 1968-1980 Smith Jack

9. After you submit your application you will get a screen that says "You cannot view the group's content or participate in the group because you are not currently a member. Members must be approved before joining." Now you must wait until the group owner or a manager approves your application.

10. When your membership is approved, you will receive a note that says your subscription to Chinook Montana Connection was approved. Now:

Click on "Sign in to Google Groups"

11. Once you are a member of Chinook Montana Connection, to login, go to:

Save the URLs in your browser FAVORITES
The Email address for posting emails to the group is: chinook-montana-connection@googlegroups.com
Please:
· Write down your password in at least three different places so you still have it after you forget two of them. Remember passwords are case sensitive (small and capital letters).
· Login and explore the group and add information to your profile
· Print this note for future reference and save it in your Chinook note folders.
· If you know of other Chinookites who may want to become members, please send this note to them.
