FARMER AND HIS WIFE CONTEST
Based on the Theme of the Painting “American Gothic”
The Sugarbeet Festival "look-a-like" contest this year will be based on Grant Wood's 'AMERICAN GOTHIC' painting, with a modification. Instead of farmer and daughter we will be featuring the farmer and wife. Get a partner and enter -- its all for fun and to raise money for the Beet on the Tower project. You can also win prizes and help make the Festival more fun in the future. For those who are interested, the painting features a farmer and his daughter, very staid and serious. The farmer holds a pitchfork and the daughter is serious and quite plain. The contest will begin at 4:30-4:45 p.m. at the Blaine County Fairgrounds and voting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Please plan on riding in the parade (lineup is at 3:00 p.m. at the Meadowlark School) and the Parade is at 4 p.m. Contact Chuck Hewitt at 357-3540.
